Professional Development Workshop Series Presents:

School Discipline, Mental Health, & the Law

Participants will learn about the latest case law, new state and federal laws, and the latest guidance from the NJDOE and U.S. Departments of Education. Participants will also learn from high profile school violence incidents that have occurred around the country, and when parents may also face potential criminal liability.

Objectives:

1. Understand the key legal considerations related to student discipline, mental health, and the law

2. Know the legal obligations related to addressing suicidal ideation, threat assessment, bullying, and students with disabilities.
